Gave this rhythmic exercise to a guitar student to help improve their picking dexterity while palm-muting. Having the rhythm mix up gallops, reverse gallops, and the occasional straight 8th notes can really fatigue your picking arm when you play this fast for long periods of time.

3/4 Time Signature Guitar Riff with Spaced Out Chords, 5th Chord Arpeggios, & a Legato Fill2/3/2019
This 3/4 time signature guitar riff was given to a student. It contrasts some chords with a spaced out rhythm pattern to some faster paced 5th chord arpeggios that finishes with a legato flourish.

This was given to a guitar student to show an example of playing a metal style rhythm/riff in a 3/4 time signature. This uses a mix of gallops and reverse gallop rhythms with palm-mute accents, and finishes with fast paced chord changes.

5/4 Time Signature Guitar Riff Using Power Chords, Staccato, & Some Short Single Note Stuff1/24/2019
This was given to a guitar student to see how well they could read and play in a 5/4 time signature. This was also put together to help them practice cutting off chords to make some staccato sounding music.

This was given to a guitar student to test their ability in reading rhythm notation, and being able to play what they've read.

This is a rhythm pattern given to guitar students when they have advanced through several different 8th note strumming patterns.
This pattern basically consists of playing an 8th note, then a quarter note, and then repeating that pattern as much as possible. Repeating that pattern lasts 3 bars/measures. The 4th bar shown here is to keep with a standard 4 bars approach, and to throw in a quick break from the repeating pattern.
