This was given to a guitar student so they could work on pushing their max speed in picking.
I like stuff like this for building/pushing speed because your fretting hand doesn't have to do a lot, which allows you to focus on your picking. Changing notes on each beat helps you keep track of what you're playing when you reach really fast speeds.
