CAFO Intro Arranged for a Standard Tuned 6 String Guitar Lesson

7/7/2018

Good luck to all of you who wish to learn this riff on a 6 string guitar in standard tuning.
IT IS CRAZY GOD DAMN FUCKING HARD
Honestly, I don't feel this is designed to be played on a 6 string guitar in standard tuning. There's a reason why Tosin plays it in the tuning he does (bare minimum 7 string guitar with the low E tuned down to D).

There are several tabs on the internet on how to play CAFO, and I dare say, all of them are WRONG.

However, even Tosin himself seems unable to teach you how to play his Animals As Leaders song.

The way Tosin teaches the intro slow is DIFFERENT than how he plays it up to speed. EVERY TIME!

My transcription is not 100% correct, but I do feel it resembles the studio recording of the intro.
CAFO Intro Guitar Lesson Standard Tuning 6 String
My transcription leaves out some notes that Tosin shows/says he's playing in a clinic I've seen, and the lesson he did for JamPlay.com

The notes I left out can not be heard in the studio recording. In fact, any cover you see (or tab you see) leaves out the same notes I do.

I have added in some other notes, because after listening to this part of the song at 25% speed, I can hear him doubling up notes in the recording that he does not discuss in his lesson(s).

Watch this archived live stream for a very in depth explanation of why I transcribed this the way I did, and how Tosin plays the song different slow VS up to speed.

Here is the Guitar Pro file so you can practice along with the midi track:

This video demonstrates the riff played along with the song, then played really slow:
