This was given to a guitar student to push his strumming and 8th note counting skills. I'm not sure why I laid the notes out with unnecessary ties within some of the bars/beats. I wrote this out close to two years ago (I think). My guess is that I wanted to demonstrate a different way of looking at this particular rhythm.
