This basic sweep picking exercise consisting of a major, minor, and diminished triad chord is something I tend to give to guitar students in the early stages of learning this challenging technique.

Your sweeping arpeggios are great. It looks like your relying on your wrist rather using your arm to sweep.
From what I was tought you dont use your wrist because the direction of your pick will move and work against you.
Am I missing something here. Thank you.

Thank you!

There are plenty of different ways people say you "need" to pick whether it's for speed picking, sweep picking, etc. There's no one correct way of doing it. All that really matters is if what you are trying to play sounds good.

Just like we all have slight variations in how we position ourselves to perform a squat, we will all have slight variations with how we pick.
