This was given to a guitar student to help them work on their picking speed with some movement using their fret hand. Playing each note twice makes it a bit easier to stay in rhythm VS changing notes with every single pick stroke.

This was given to a guitar student to help them improve their alternate picking skills while running up scale shapes. Playing just these small groups of notes allows you to focus on what direction the pick is going to help avoid any accidental economy picking when going the 3rd to 4th notes in each bar.

Gave this to a guitar student to work on their speed picking on the low E and A strings. Going in short bursts like this allows you to push your speed faster than if you were constantly picking, plus the two quarter notes help to make sure you are playing in time correctly.

This was given to a guitar student so they could work on their speed (tremolo) picking. Having the quarter note on beat four not only helps you stay in time as you get faster and faster, but it also gives your picking hand/arm a slight break so you can really push your limits.

This was given to a guitar student so they could work on pushing their max speed in picking.
I like stuff like this for building/pushing speed because your fretting hand doesn't have to do a lot, which allows you to focus on your picking. Changing notes on each beat helps you keep track of what you're playing when you reach really fast speeds.
